When she was born through a tree's leaves she was automaticlly taken and raised by the lycans. She was choosen to be the alpha's girl and that led her to be with Erik. She was a very frightened child when she was born for Erik and his folowers were abusive. At a time she was able to run away only to be stopped by Erik and two of his brothers and they had beaten her almost to death till Lock had jumped in and saved her life. It was a time when Erik had made a deal with lock's father to leave Lock for his father to kill and he'd go in and take Melanie. Melanie was then taken by Erik and was never really allowed to do anything without his permission. Her mind was erased of Lock and when Erik talked about him she just knew him as the "freak" Erik had problems with. It caused them and the pack to move around a lot. When she was raped by him at the age 12 she wasnt able to produce children. Erik had blamed it on her and had treated her with even more cruelty. But soon she met Erik's best right-hand man Graham and fell in love with him the boy who was suppose to be the true Alpha of the pack.
