Hyun-Bin was born in Seoul. His parents died shortly after his birth in a car accident and he remembers little of them. He was placed under the care of an orphanage. When he was 5 the orphanage closed down and he was forced to live on the street. He was shortly thereafter picked up by a thug who brough him back to the gang he was a member of. Hyun-Bin was forced to live with other
orphans and earn the gang-leaders money by selling gum at a markup on subway cars and other petty jobs. He was given the name 'Frog' as no-one knew his actual name. He never found out how old he is exactly, but the guys at the orphanage told him he was born in 1993, and he decided that it was the closest he would come to knowing his actual birth-date.

When he was 8 another boy who he considered a little brother, called 'Pig' by the others, was accidentally killed by the thugs in the gang. He ran away after that and has never forgiven the gang leader. As he ran away, he realised he couldn't go back or he would face the same fate as Pig. He wandered the streets for a while before heading into the subway to escape the cold. It was here that he was found by some members of a large organisation in Seoul. They brought him back to the home of their leader, known as The Chairman, who was looking for an orphan he could raise alongside his grand-daughter, Tae Gyun, as a bodyguard.

As he grew up he was trained by many different teachers to be as good a fighter as he could and taught discipline and obedience. In other words, his social-life was replaced in favour with training to become nothing but a bodyguard to the chairman's grand-daughter. During this time he protected her faithfully throughout school and earned a reputation as nothing more than a princess' lapdog.

These days he is currently a high-school student still faithfully protecting miss Tae. He is trying his best to merge himself into normal society, while still remaining sharp enough to protect his charge. He isn't very good at socialising, but is a good fighter, though he lacks the strength needed to win some battles. He has a dislike of lethal weapons, believing that they aren't necessary, and as such shuns using them in favour of mixed-martial-arts and kendo.
