Another day, another dollar

Jack landed in the alleyway behind the Cross Time Cafe and checked to make sure his cargo was still there. As expected, the wagon of fresh produce was still harnessed around his midsection and all the items were accounted for. Lifting up the roller door he pulled the wagon into re-purposed garage before unstrapping the restraints.

The owners' daughter, nicknamed 'Cookie' helped Jack move the fruits and vegetables into the store room. Glancing at the clock, Hmm, 'bout time for lunch the thought. Today it was a simple mushroom salad that he had made himself.

Jack ruffled his wings at the sudden chill of the air conditioner in the Cafe's dinning room as he trotted over to his regular table in the corner. It was a quiet day, but Jack couldn't help but get the felling that it wouldn't be for much longer.

Arisa looked around hoping to find a place where she could si, relax and have a drink. Also she wanted to get out of the heat. She had just spent the morning training. Since her parents left she felt like it was the only thing she could to waste the extra time she now had.

She smiled when she found an empty table that was at the back of the room. Arisa weaved through the people and tables towards her destination, hoping that no one would beat her to the seat.

She looked around at her surroundings in front of her was an elderly couple and behind her was a horse, before looking at the menu.

Jack looked up as the bell above the door rang, in stepped a young woman dressed in quarter length denim shorts and a ruffled red blouse. She topped out at five and a half feet and didn't look to be more than 60 kilos. All in all she was an average girl but there was something about her that raised the fur on the back of Jack's neck.

There was a faint but familiar tickle on the tips of his wings but he could not place the feeling. Jack could tell that it would drive him nuts if he didn't figure it out but he had finished his lunch and it was time to get back to work.

"Excuse me ma'am," he said to the woman who had just come in and was perusing the menu, "Is there anything that I could get you?"

Arisa looked up from the menu to the waiter person, well hose. It was the same one who was sitting at the other table behind her. She turned to see if it was the same one. Yeap it was, "Hey could i please get a latte and wrap?" she asked since from what she read in the menu the wrap sounded nice and the latte because she needed the caffeine.

Berry runs into the cafe. "sorry am late again!" she runs into the back and changes into the outfit choosen for the day. she runs back out and bows to everyone in the cafe. "hello everyone!"

Her head turned at the sound of the doors bell ringing and the voice of a girl apologising for being late. Arisa guessed that the girl also worked here. She quickly calculated the cost of her meal in her head and then heard the girls voice again, this time she was greeting everyone.

Cinna quickly cutting in through the door after the girl greeting everyone. Cinna is wearing a long blue dress and a read flower hat, which she had recently taken from someone’s house from down the road. She walks in quietly and trying to duck stares she walks over to a table and sits down picking up a menu.

Looking it over and over pretending to read it, but also paying attention to a strange looking horse with wings. She gets a little nervous as a few people look at her as she starts to work knots out of her hair.

"Berry, one latte and a wrap for table three."
Berry was always the one to fill the orders, hooves weren't that good for quick food preparation. Jack continued to rack his brain on where he knew that feeling from as he collected the orders from the other patrons, the lunch rush was on and all hooves were on deck to handle it, Cookie was helping Berry with making all the orders while Jack waited on the customers.

There was one that sent up red flags with Jack, a tall woman with dark grey hair that had entered just after Berry. She gave off the same kind of vibes as that Zebra shaman that lived in the Everfree Forest, someone out of place and looking for companionship. But his soldier instincts were screaming at him to avoid her and seek a tactically advantageous position while simultaneously telling him that she was a non-combatant to protect. There had only been one other that gave him that kind of reaction. Jack prayed to the Princesses that he would never cross paths with that mare again for the sake of his sanity.

Arisa could tell that half of people in here were not human. It was nice when different races could live among each other in peace. But there still were the occasional humans that did not like that. That’s why she was always careful, her parents had told her not to humans know about her gift and talent. Another person had entered the room; she could tell that the girl was not human from the way she was acting.

as a car drives by she secretes 4 claw marks all the way through the glass before the car was even past the window she was next to, this drawing more attention to her made her more withdrawn as she puts the menu in front of her trying to hid from the eyes, acting as a little child dose.

She could smell all kinds of things, people foods, and non-humans. She tries to look out for any trouble. Or the person she stole the cloths or money off. It is the first time being in a place like this and is not sure how to act.

becoming more withdrawn she starts trying to get up to leave without drawing attention to herself, and starts to think maybe this shinny blue dress wasn’t the best choice of clothing

Jack could not help but notice the way the girl in the blue skirt had hunkered down when a car had driven past, the same way that a frightened child would hide from the shadows in their closet. Something was definitively up.

Signaling for Cookie to take over from him Jack sat down across from the girl. Now that he was this close his nose picked up a familiar scent, Canis Lupis the common wolf, and he could see that the skirt she was wearing didn't fit properly and looked very much like a skirt that one of his neighbor's owned.

"Ma'am, don't panic. I'm not here to hurt you. I can help, I have friends that can keep you safe from whoever is trying to hurt you. But I need to know who you are, who is after you and why." Jack's voice was low and lost beneath the general murmur to all but the intended recipient and possibly Berry, he never had gotten a fix on her capabilities.

Berry nods and runs into the back and wips up the order and brings it out. she runs to the table and sets the order down and smiles. "there you go I hope you enjoy it!"she giggles lightly. she looks over at the girl in the blue skirt and smiles lightly at her to make her feel welcomed.

Cinna looking up at this strange horse then putting the menu in-between her and him trying to hide from his eyes, in a soft and quiet voice she asks "who, me" in such a way a child learning to speak would say it.

Looking over her shoulder she sees more staring eyes, but a friendly girl with what looks like ears of a cat smile at her, making her novice of an in counter. As she is new she doesn’t know how to act.

But she saw the horse asking people what they want and then the food just comes out, so without lowering the menu she asks simply "meat pweas"

"Thanks," She smiled as she took a sip of her drink, "SO, how much do I owe you?" She asked as she took out her purse.

Berry blinks and looks back at the girl. she thinks for a minute "uh hold on...." she turns around "jack how muh does she owe? I forgot.." she giggles lightly slightly embrassed that she forgot.

as the lunch rush starts to pick up slowly more people start to want in, each and every one of them talking, Cinna not liking this needs to get out of their but every time she looks up it seems everyone is staring at her and she starts to get anxious, more so as she can feel Jess come on, and Jess despises crowds more the Cinna.

She pulls away from everyone as she puts her fingers in her ears to try and block out the noise.

Berry blinks and looks at the girl and smiles lightly. she looks back "excuse me for a moment.." she runs up and stands on a chair. "everyone excuse me plz.. could you all be a little bit more quiet I have a really bad headache.." she smiles sweetly to everyone. they all nod happily and quiet down alittle. she hops down and sits in the chair.

Jess isn’t coming on as strong any more, and Cinna lowers her hands from her ears as she looks over to the sweet sounding girl and smiles, Cinna doesn’t smile often. Manly because no one gives her a reason to, but this girl helped her out so, Cinna thinking to herself am she a friend? as she gets nerves when the girl catchers her eyes and she sticks her head back into the menu.

Berry looks at her and giggles lightly she smiles and gets up. she walks around getting orders and filling them. this also helped quiet people down. she sits back down in the same chair and giggles as her bells ring. she taps her chin then hops up. she walks over to the girl and smiles, she sits down across from her. "hi my names berry.. whats yours?"

"C...C...Cinna" she puts her head down but looks up with her eyes, nervice abbout talking to her, infact shes always nervice about talking to anyone as she has problems speeking and dosnt know to many words. "H... hi barry" she doesn’t think that’s right, this just making her blush.

she is un sure what to say, whether she should say sorry for getting her name wrong, or just let it go and hope she didn’t notice, however this is interrupted by a loud grumble of her stomach.

berry giggles and smiles "its nice to met you cinna.." her cat ear stand up as she hears cinnas stomach growl. "are you hungry?"
