Personality: Shusei likes to tease Hotsuma and avoids giving straight answers through this method. However, he is usually silent or smiling when confronted by other people. He also works for the Zweilt Guardians, he works with Hotsuma. He maintains a formal nature designed to conceal how he actually feels and thinks. He never shows negative feelings if he can help it. He has strong feelings for Hotsuma and he trusts him with his life. He's said before, without Hotsuma, he doesn't have a reason to live. However, he feels hopeless since Hotsuma only seems to think of him as a childhood friend.

History: Shusei is Hotsumas childhood friend and is greatly annoyed by his partner for his individual brilliance. He played the piano from an early age, he will occasional practice it still. He is a member of the student council, in addition, to performing 'clairvoyant' duties for the local police (he helps solve u-files [unknown files] with his crystal ball and his power gods eyes) and fighting for the Zweilt guardians. However, he is modest about his strengths and achievements, mainly concerned with his partners welfare.

He never left Hotsumas side, even when Hotsuma was isolated from others at school. He also appears just in time to save Hotsuma when he tried to burn himself to death. This event caused the indelible scars on Shusei's body, making Hotsuma realize how dangerous it us to wield gods voice. While Shusei never regrets saving his partners life, what becomes unbearable for him over time of the on Hotsumas face every time he sees the scars.
